The film Begin Again takes place in Manhattan, New York. It talks a lot about the relationship between the main actress, Greta and the main actor, Dan. The storyline in the film is most performed by music, and this is one of the most attractive points of the film in my personal thought.
In the movie, Greta is a young and radical music composer, and she tends to find a company to cooperate with. Meanwhile, Dan, who used to be a successful record executive in New York, separated from his wife and is fired because of his laziness. One day, when Dan went to a bar. He met Greta, while she was playing guitar and singing there. As fascinated by Greta’s music, Dan proposed to sign her into his former record company, but Greta initially refused. After reconsidered, Greta agreed to sign the contract. However, the record company refused them. In order to reach their goal, Dan and Greta set up a band and started to go around New York performing. I think this part is the most feverish time in the movie since they perform just with their ambition and hobby, and they work hard to attract many people. Though doing this everywhere is exhausting, they think this is worth it. Later, the boss of the record company agreed to see Greta and Dan again, right after they published an album.
It seems like Dan and Greta almost succeed, Greta, however, found out that her ex-boyfriend, Dave, is being awarded on a TV show. She then blamed him that he stole her original song and adapted it into a very different style song in order to flatter his audience. Dave felt shame on himself when he knew Greta’s true feeling, so he invited Greta to his concert and also promised her he would keep the song original, sounded lovely and soft instead of being a hip-hop. Greta agreed but still found out that Dave chose the stage and audience but not her. Though she was sad, she got over it because she worked on her business and followed her dream to continued her career. On the other side, Dan rebuilt the relationship between him and his wife and helped Greta to promote her album.
I liked this movie very much; it could be one of my favorite movies. That is, the song Dave sang, Lost Stars, is made by the famous band Maroon 5, and Dave is acted by their main singer, Adam Levine. There are also many songs performed in the movie when it comes to the part of Dan and Greta and their band go over the New York City. To sum up, if you like music and Maroon 5, don’t forget to spend time watching this movie and listen to its song! It is absolutely one of the greatest musical movies!
